Well Dust 514 is, maybe, hard to deal with maps for developers, but I would like to know if you are going to make maps on planets and if so, what kind of maps?
With snow mountain maps, tropical maps, lava maps, arid ones. Water worlds? Shore maps? Tornadoes? Rain, snow, tsunami, star falls? Meteorites falling on map, killing randomly(so that you must be aware of them).
I think some of this maps may originate new type of battles.
Sneaky mission, sabotage on EVE station for example where EVE pilots are stationed.
How about dangerous creatures and plants so that not just enemy but environment would be unfriendly.
Different stars not just like sun but some red giants, blue dwarfs, white dwarfs, few stars at the same time, visible planets while on ground. Another planets that move during battle closing planet from star light making them fall into darkness. To improve reality of game play. Engine is capable of that, I think.
Thank you for your attention. |

I am pretty good at digital drawing(on paper too). That would be great if Developers open an ideas thread for terrain and how gamers see environment. With possibility to vote on best ideas that then could be fulfilled. As players make games better. |

Dalmont, get the UDK (it is completely FREE). http://www.unrealengine.com/udk/downloads/Put all your great ideas in the format of UDK (UE3) project and send it to CCP. Make videos out of your project and post them to youtube for all of us to admire And possibly vote for...
It will take some time as doing this on my own with limited time for hobby. Hard work it will be. I was using Blender, I'll see what UDK has to offer. I think drawing on paper and then scanning it would be faster.
P.S.: I flattered myself and didn't like it. |

UDK is faster and friendlier to use than Blender. Gets you faster into creating a prototype level. And i think it is easier to learn and use than Blender. UI is less "intimidating" than in Blender. A very simple level created with Blender (with the flying monkey, falling boxes, some trees and surrounding mountains) worked slower than the precooked game from UDK. On the same machine. DELL Optiplex 745 4GB RAM, 3GHz dual core desktop with Radeon HD6570. Nothing special to be proud of... Good stuff, I'll try on my free time. |
